Out of nowhere Persona 5 the Animation had a pop up shop in Shibuya Tokyo Hands right now.
Pretty awesome selection but looks like there’ll be gone soon!

Oh snap! The disrespect!!
.. I love it.
Last month we got to take a shot (zing) at this game at Toshimaen Park near Ikebukuro. A bunch of fun but can’t help wonder how many kids went home limping.
What sets this soccer game apart from all other sports games is its innovative control scheme. You use the joystick to control your player’s movement. Kicking the ball is not done with buttons instead, a kick pad, located on the bottom of the cabinet and in the shape of a soccer ball, is used to determine the ball’s movement and speed, depending on how hard you kick the pad.
Much thanks to Arcade Museum for their deets on this cabinet.
A quick look around Capcom’s esports space in Capcom Plaza, Kichijoji Tokyo.
Well worth visiting even just as a spectacle, with plenty of throwback posters from StreetFighter and Vampy games past.
PS4s with hayabusa horis ready to go. Free to join, free to use, and with tournaments weekly, definitely worth your time.

The breaks are really brutal. Overshot the platform by a good few feet this time.
Can’t recommend Densha De Go!! anymore strongly. We’ve been slowly working away at the Sobu line this month and it’s such a blast.

With recent updates to Tekken 7 on console, with characters like Noctis, Geese and now Anna, I’ve been looking for new titles. I’ve been dabbling with Fighting Vipers again for a few months now but with few arcade venues around Tokyo it’s really looking like SkullGirls is going to take over.
If anyone can point us towards the SkullGirls Tokyo community we’d be much obliged.

It’s just turned September but for Densha de Go it’s officially winter.
Really fun to see how the weather affects gameplay, and snow especially makes braking and accelerating that much more challenging.

Wow that came around quick.
July 28th 2017 saw the opening of Taito Station in Tachikawa (20 mins outside of Shinjuku) and this month they are celebrating the 1 year anniversary with some special edition Tshirts.
The opening of Taito Station here coincided with the death of Arcade Game Oslo on the North side of the station which catered for the rhythm and fighting game junkies in a big way. Oslo closed within 6 months of TS opening. It’s sad to see but I’m happy Taito Station are running it right. Friendly staff, super clean cabinets and facilities. Good ratio of crane games to cabinets.
Definitely worth checking in here if you’re visiting Japan. Being the newest of Taito Stations you’ll see something pretty different to most arcades located in Tokyo central.

Awesome to see Koenji Cube doing great. One of the few arcades in Tokyo still running 50¥ games, a huge Tekken and Rhythm game scene and now, bringing in Pop’nMusic.
20 seconds from JR Koenji station, and how many arcades have you seen with a 5 star rating?!

If you’re a anime figure collector it’s definitely worth hopping on the Chuo train to Tachikawa BookOff right about now.
Clearing out plenty of stock from Hatsune Miku and Dragonball to School Idol Project and Transformers.
Not really allowed to take photos here but grabbed a few anyways.
